Elizabeth II, Queen
of United Kingdom
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor
was born in 1926 April 21, London. Her father is King George VI.
In
the second world war, she and her family evaculated to Canada to avoid the frequent air bombing by the Luftwaffe.
She
married Prince Philip in 1947
When
King George VI died, in 1952, she was only 25 years old, and she became the
queen.
Her
children are Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward and Prince Charles
the would-be king.
Hermost
famous appearance is the Christmas speech. Every X-mas she sums up what
happened that year, and takes a few kind words to people. Her speech included
sad things twice, in 1997, when Princess Diana died and now, in 2021, when
Prince Philip, Elizabeth’s husband is dead.
Here
is a quote from the speech:
„Although it’s a time of great happiness and good cheer for many,
Christmas can be hard for those who have lost loved ones. This year,
especially, I understand why.”
„But for me, in the months since the death of my beloved Philip,
I have drawn great comfort from the warmth and affection of the many tributes
to his life and work – from around the country, the Commonwealth and the world.
His sense of service, intellectual curiosity and capacity to squeeze fun out of
any situation – were all irrepressible. That mischievous, enquiring twinkle was
as bright at the end as when I first set eyes on him.”
She
is the most famous woman in the world, but she is very old, 96 years old, but
we wish her the best.
Long
live the Queen!
